About

I began building furniture in 2000. In 2005 I helped build a log home and shortly after began working for a log home and timber framing company in Southern Ontario. I spent many years working for that company as it grew building numerous log and timber homes, entrance features and outdoor structures until 2014 when my wife Katie and I moved West to Kitimat, British Columbia. We spent four and a half years there experiencing some amazing things and meeting great people. I worked for a small wood shop building some unique projects including bat condos, a tiny house and did a major update to a condo. I designed and built some timber structures including a pergola, a covered porch, and a screened in porch. Our first son was born in Kitimat and when he was four months we spent five weeks driving to the Yukon and Alaska in a Truck Camper I built for the occasion. With our second son on the way we made the tough decision to move back to Ontario to be closer to family. We both have great memories of trips to the Muskoka area so we decided to settle in Huntsville and begin a timber framing company. Our third son was born here in Huntsville in 2021.

We completed our 2500 square foot workshop in 2020 and have been up and running since. Have a look at our Instagram @hilliertimberworks for progress photos of our current projects. Get in touch with your projects and ideas.

No project is too small so contact me and we can go over what you are looking for.
