Cedar timber frame pergola constructed from large 8 inch by 8 inch posts and 8 inch by 10 inch beams. Solid hand cut wooden joinery pegged together with oak pegs. All of the timbers were cut in advance and the entire structure was assembled and raised in a day. The owner opted for a human powered raising to avoid any equipment on his very well maintained lawn. Luckily plenty of his neighbours and family were happy to volunteer and it turned into a amazing day of building, eating and socializing for everyone involved.
