Bat "condo" designed to house up to 3500 bats and help them cope with habitat loss. Built as a safe place for mother bats and their young to spend the summer before migrating to their winter homes. There are landing boards around the perimeter and access point throughout the houses to allow bats to enter. Including under the eaves, small half inch slits in the sides and front, under the steel roofing and up under the wood siding. The interior is filled with 3/8 inch plywood baffles (around 9 full sheets!) with 3/4 inch spacers giving the bats a good space to roost. The wood siding was reclaimed from an old building that was demolished in the location where one of the condos now stands.
